Refund Policy
Short version: Try FileForge free first — the free tier is designed as your trial. We don't run a separate refund program; refunds are handled by Paddle (our payment provider) under their standard buyer terms, which include any statutory rights you have under EU, UK, California, or other applicable consumer law.
1. Free tier as trial
FileForge offers a free tier with no time limit so you can evaluate the app on your own hardware before buying. The free tier covers enough usage for a realistic trial (1 GB cleanup, 1 GB duplicates, 250 MB ghost files, 3 app uninstalls) — we consider it the primary "try before you buy".
Because you can fully test FileForge for free, we do not operate a separate refund program of our own.
2. How refunds are handled
Refund requests are handled by Paddle, our Merchant of Record, under their standard buyer terms. Paddle's terms include any statutory refund or withdrawal rights you have under EU, UK, California, or other applicable consumer-protection law.
3. How to request a refund
To request a refund, either:
- Reply directly to your Paddle receipt email, or
- Email support@fileforgeapp.com with your Paddle order/receipt number
Paddle will assess the request against their buyer terms and applicable consumer law.
4. After a refund
If a refund is granted, your Pro license is deactivated and the app reverts to free-tier limits on next launch. You're welcome to keep using the free tier indefinitely.
5. Statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits your statutory consumer rights. Where mandatory consumer-protection law (EU Consumer Rights Directive, UK Consumer Rights Act, California Civil Code, etc.) grants you a refund or withdrawal right, that right applies in full regardless of anything written here.
6. Chargebacks
Please contact us before initiating a chargeback. We can usually resolve issues directly and faster than a card-network dispute. Chargebacks filed without prior contact may result in your license being permanently revoked.
